12 SLA HDU staff were trained in consultation with GICHD, utilizing GICHD e-learning modules and Sri Lanka’s experience in the completion survey process.
This training program was conducted to strengthen the Information Management (IM) capacity of the Sri Lanka Army Humanitarian Demining Unit (SLA HDU) as per the agreed conditions in the Sri Lanka Mine Action Completion Strategy 2023–2024, under the strategic objective of management of residual contamination.
Capacity-building programs for local personnel remain a continuous process in the Sri Lanka Mine Action Programme. Over the next few years, it is scheduled to align with the mine action program and involve experts from the Sri Lanka Army to ensure the full maintenance of the National Mine Action Database from year 2027 .
