IMSMA Core, a system built on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, provides a flexible suite of tools and processes tailored to meet the specific operational and reporting needs of national mine action programs, including Sri Lanka’s.

In July 2024, the GICHD Information Management Division organized an IMSMA Core Stakeholder Workshop in collaboration with NMAC and the mine action operators. The workshop focused on updating additional processes to fully integrate the new system. This transition will ensure the availability of reliable, readily accessible information, both for the ongoing completion survey and for managing residual risk following the fulfillment of Sri Lanka’s clearance obligations under the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (APMBC).
